Sue Sweeney

The region's own first lady of comedy burst onto the circuit fairly recently following a successful twenty year career as a vocalist. In an avenue of entertainment where it often takes many years to build up a following, Sue's comedy performances were an instant hit and she caught the eyes and ears of regional broadcasting bosses who made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Now, Sue warms the hearts of thousands with her radio shows on BBC Newcastle, she is dedicated to the region, filling homes with laughter and companionship.

Sue's recent success as a comedienne has put her up against her more established male comedic peers. Never one to shirk a challenge, Sue has converted audiences with her bubbly, quick-fire delivery and is the only woman to ever win 'North-East Comedy Artiste of the Year'.
