Collection: Sheila Armstrong

Sheila Armstrong (soprano) was born in Ashington, Northumberland.

After studying in Newcastle and the Royal Academy of Music, she won the Kathleen Ferrier Memorial Award and the Mozart Prize in the same year.

She has sang with Sadler's Wells, Glyndebourne Festival, and Royal Opera House Covent Garden, as well as major festivals and tours throughout Europe, the Far East, the United States and Canada.

She retired from professional performance in 1993.
