Alan Fox is the Rolls Royce of comedians,the type of entertainer who effortlessly draws in his audience, starts them laughing and then keeps the gags and cracks coming at a steady rate till the crowd are putty in his hands.

A native of South Shields on Tyneside, Alan began entertaining as a young man and after demob from the army and a short spell on civvie street, he took the plunge and followed his dream into the world of showbiz. Originally a vocalist, he has toured the UK for decades on star-studded theatre bills, summer seasons and the cabaret circuit.

Considering that Alan has been a full time entertainer for over forty years, it's quite surprising to note that this is his first DVD release. The performance featured here was recorded on 23rd January 2009 at the Customs House Theatre, barely a mile from Alan's birthplace in Tyne Dock. To witness him entertaining his home town audience is like watching a comedy master class, his smooth, relaxed delivery is a joy to watch and his material is achingly funny. For many people in the North East, 'Foxy' will always be the funniest and most original of our home grown comics. If you've seen Foxy before you'll love this DVD and if you're a newcomer to his humour you'll wish you'd made his acquaintance sooner.
